8th Annual Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival Delights Festivalgoers and Sponsors

SUNRISE - If you were nearby Markham Park in the City of Sunrise on Sunday, November 8th you couldn't help but smell the aroma of "jerk seasoning" that filled the air at the 8th Annual Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival.

If you were one of the 18,000+ people who attended the festival you were treated to jerk chicken, jerk pork, jerk ice cream and yes jerk peanut butter plus music from Allison Hinds, Dean Fraser and Byron Lee’s Dragonaires to name a few.

The Publix Jerk Cook-Off was not to be missed as this year's winner was Rodney Baltimore of HOT 105.

Festival goers enjoyed lessons about Jamaica’s rich history through stories and song of national heroes told by Mrs. Norma Darby and her group the Jamaica Folk Revue.

Sponsors such as Grace Foods, Publix, Air Jamaica, Jamaica National, Sun Life OBGYN, Digicel, Tobacco Free Florida, and Toyota of Hollywood benefited from the great turnout as they were able to showcase products and talk about services offered.
