Laparkan introduces air cargo service to St. Lucia

MIAMI - Laparkan Airways Inc. has announced the introduction of air cargo service from Miami to St. Lucia via its hub in Trinidad and Tobago. The announcement was made today by Laparkan’s Air Cargo Manager Mr. John Green during the opening day of Air and Sea Cargo Americas International Congress and Exhibition being held in Miami at the Doubletree Convention Center, November 4-6.

Mr. Green said that Laparkan Airways will serve the St. Lucia market using its regular 767 freighter service on Tuesdays and Fridays from Miami with a same day connection to Hewanorra International Airport via Trinidad and Tobago.

“We are pleased to offer St. Lucia as another core destination with same day connection through our hub in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. All freight will arrive into St. Lucia’s Hewanorra International Airport (UVF) in Vieux Fort and will be handled by Hewanorra Air Cargo Services. We are offering special introductory rates for barrels in addition to our flat rate boxes,” Green said.

The service to St. Lucia is effective immediately.

Laparkan is represented by a high powered delegation at the Americas Air and Sea Cargo Congress which includes its Senior Vice President Shridat Naraine, Air Cargo Manager John Green, Vice President for the southeastern US Maureen Singh, Regional Air Cargo Manager Fyzal Ali and Air Cargo Sales Manager Raisa Cuenca. Laparkan also has a display booth at the exhibition.

During the Air and Sea Cargo Americas International Congress, they will be analyzing the state of the air and sea cargo industries in the Americas with a view to identifying strategies for creating profit and surviving economic downturns. Industry officials are also discussing the challenges and opportunities in the air and sea trade industries in the Caribbean and Latin America for the 21st century.

Laparkan is among several Caribbean owned companies including Caribbean Airlines which are participating in the event.
