Jamaican Singer, Impresario, Horace Forbes to celebrate 80th birthday - Top Entertainers to perform

MIRAMAR - Friends and well-wishers of veteran impresario, singer and radio personality, Horace Forbes, will celebrate his 80th birthday, on Saturday, March 9th - 7:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m - at the St. Mary Armenian Church Banquet Hall, in Hollywood, Florida, with a Hollywood-style Dinner Dance.

Under the patronage of Florida State Representative, Hazelle Rogers, the Hollywood Red Carpet event will include performances by some of Forbes' friends in the entertainment field and presentations from community leaders as well as dinner and dancing.

Already confirmed to appear are Boris Gardner, Eugene Grey, Dobby Dobson, Audley Rollen and the Mighty Sparrow. Patrons can expect a number of surprise appearances and dance the night away to the musical selections of top female DJ Janice D Empress.

Promoter and singer, Horace Forbes celebrates 80th Birthday with Hollywood-style Dinner Dance

Horace Forbes has been in the entertainment business since the 1950's and has worked with notables such as The Four Tops, Clarence Carter, Candi Staton and the Mighty Sparrow, to name a few. He has produced concerts and stage shows in Jamaica as well as South Florida, where he currently resides. As a singer, he has performed before dignitaries and at many community functions, entertaining with his smooth voice, delivering popular classics of the fifties and sixties. Forbes currently hosts a radio program on WAVS radio every Saturday evening at 10:00 p.m.

"I am honored to celebrate this milestone in my life, and for the opportunity to share it with the many friends I have made over the years. I am especially grateful to the community for its support and look forward to a memorable and unforgettable night of entertainment, dining and dancing," says Forbes.

Tickets are currently on sale at local Caribbean retail outlets, Aunt I's, Sam's WI, Rainbow Variety and the Patty Place for $55.00 and includes dinner. A cash bar will also be available stocked with top shelf spirits. The Hollywood red carpet celebration is sponsored by: Mandell Chiropractic, Sea Freight Agencies and WAVS Radio.
